Between “Now” and “Never”
Everything exists in pairs.
Day and night. Inhale and exhale. Beginning and end. Beauty and its shadow — withering, which makes beauty possible.
This canvas is about what lies in between.
Two flowers on one stem. They are inseparable, like life and death, like light and darkness, like yesterday and tomorrow. One is turned toward the sunset, the other toward the dawn. One has already lived its day, the other is just getting ready to bloom.
They look at each other across an abyss in a single moment.
And in that moment — everything.
The flower on the left — an echo.
The flower on the right — a promise.
And between them — the only thing that is real: the flow of time itself, caught in the instant when it is still here but already slipping away.
The artist created this work thinking about how beauty exists only because it is finite. That light becomes light only because there is darkness. That life has flavor only because there is death.
She did not try to stop time.
She tried to see it.
To see it in two flowers that will never be as they are now.
Never.
