From the series « Italy on the Skin »
Canvas 80×100 cm, cotton, oil, 2026

Here Tuscany is not a landscape, but a woman. She sits at the edge of her own world, and on her back, like the lines of fate, the map of the region appears: Firenze, Siena, Pisa. The other towns are hidden in the skin — they are not meant to be listed, but to be felt.
In her palm rests what is drunk slowly: not to quench thirst at once, but to leave a taste on the tongue. Beside her — a bunch of grapes, the blood and fruit of this land.
Behind her, in a single dream, the artist gathers what reality never brings together: the Duomo of Florence — the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Ponte Vecchio — the jewellers’ bridge suspended above the void, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, held only by a thin black line of meaning.
Above them flies a grey Pegasus — the horse of inspiration, which appeared on the canvas by itself.
At the heart of the composition, a waterfall. These are the thermal waters of Tuscany: the Cascate del Mulino in Saturnia and Bagni San Filippo. The white limestone basins, where hot water has flowed for millennia, become here a waterfall of time — thick, milky, vaporous.
In the upper left corner shines the sun in the form of an infinity sign.
In the lower right corner — the red lily of Florence, the Giglio. The seal of the city and the seal of the heart.
Tuscany should not be looked at.
It should be drunk slowly —
and entered, like the hot waters of Saturnia,
with the whole body.
